Course Materials
Included in the cost of the course is your copy of the BLS for Healthcare Providers manual, CD-ROM, and a CPR mask to help you prepare for the class. Please be sure to bring your mask to the class.
What to Wear
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities, please tell one of the instructors. The instructor may be able to adjust the equipment if you have back, knee, or hip problems. Also please tell your instructor if you are allergic to latex.
How To Prepare
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to train you in the lifesaving skills of both CPR and relief of choking. Because the BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers a lot of material in a relatively short time, advance preparation is required.
We recommend that you prepare by
1. Reviewing your BLS for Healthcare Providers manual, paying particular attention to the steps of CPR and relief of choking.
2. Carefully reading the objectives at the beginning of each section.
3. Reviewing the video clips on the CD.
