What to Wear
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities, please tell one of the instructors. The instructor may be able to adjust the equipment if you have back, knee, or hip problems. Also please tell your instructor if you are allergic to latex.
How To Prepare
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to train you in the lifesaving skills of both CPR and relief of choking. Because the BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers a lot of material in a relatively short time, advance preparation is required.
We recommend that you prepare by
1. Reviewing your BLS for Healthcare Providers manual, paying particular attention to the steps of CPR and relief of choking.
2. Carefully reading the objectives at the beginning of each section.
3. Reviewing the video clips on the CD.
If you have any questions about the course, please call STCC Health Services at 755-4230.

Mayors Downtown Celebration North Adams
Date: Wednesday, August 25, 2010
Time: From 17:00 to 21:00
Place: Main Street, North Adams, MA 01230
County: Berkshire
MRC: Berkshire
The entire downtown is closed to all but pedestrian traffic for the thousands of visitors and residents attending the Downtown Celebration. Since 1996, the Mayor's Downtown Celebration has been held to commemorate the completion of a street, sidewalk and lighting beautification project. Due to its overwhelmingly positive response, the festival has continued ever since. Groups, businesses and organizations distribute information, hold contests and giveaways, while bands play everything from Dixieland to Rock and Roll. Delicious aromas fill the air as our local restaurants and vendors provide all kinds of wonderful food. This event is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable. MRC will once again be on board with Emergency Preparedness educational materials, giveaways and perhaps hold a raffle or two!
